The crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium in the World Cup match on Saturday expressed disapproval with loud boos directed at Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam. As soon as Babar took the field for the toss, the crowd began chanting ‘India, India.’ Following that, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to field first.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, mentioned that they would maintain the same team as in the previous match. But when he began to speak, the crowd responded with loud jeers and boos. Babar, with a slight smile, commented that he would embrace the energetic crowd.

“We also wanted to bowl first. We have had good two wins, momentum and confidence is high. Jam-packed stadium, we will enjoy it. We want to be good in the field, we had a couple of good practice sessions. Same team for us,” said Babar at the toss.

Pakistan retained the same lineup as their victory against Sri Lanka. Babar Azam’s team entered the highly anticipated match following a historic World Cup run-chase, where they successfully pursued a target of 345 runs with centuries from Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan.

Meanwhile, India began their campaign with consecutive victories, first defeating five-time champions Australia in Chennai and then convincingly outplaying Afghanistan in New Delhi. In the Indian team, Shubman Gill, who was absent for the first two matches due to dengue, will replace Ishan Kishan for the upcoming match.
