In the 2023 World Cup match between Australia and the Netherlands on October 25, David Warner made a superb catch. He leaped perfectly near the boundary line to dismiss Dutch batsman Sybrand Engelbrecht.
Australia handed the Netherlands a significant 309-run defeat at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. David Warner had an outstanding performance for the Australian team. He scored a brilliant century in the first innings and followed it with an exceptional catch near the boundary in the second innings.
Warner made the catch in the 14th over of the Dutch innings as Sybrand Engelbrecht tried to hit a six from Mitchell Marsh’s delivery. Initially, it seemed like the ball might go over the square leg boundary, but Warner’s precise leap ended up dismissing Sybrand.

David Warner was not selected as the Player of the Match in the 2023 World Cup game against the Netherlands
Although David Warner achieved his record-breaking sixth World Cup century for Australia against the Netherlands, scoring 104 runs off 93 balls, he did not receive the Player of the Match award.
The award was given to his teammate Glenn Maxwell, who scored the fastest century in ODI World Cup history (40 balls), concluding with 106 runs off 44 balls. Similar to Warner, Maxwell also made a significant impact in the field by executing the run-out of Dutch opener Vikramjit Singh in the sixth over.
Australia scored 399/8 in 50 overs, thanks to centuries by Warner and Maxwell. In response, the Netherlands managed just 90 runs, with Adam Zampa taking four wickets in three overs and Mitchell Marsh getting two wickets.
