Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell’s blazing knock against New Zealand was one of the highlights of the match on Saturday, October 28 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. His performance entertained the fans, who were overjoyed. The all-rounder also slammed a huge six that hit the roof of the stadium.

The incident took place during the forty-third over of the Australian innings. Mitchell Santner bowled a fuller delivery outside the off-stump. Glenn Maxwell stepped forward and clubbed the ball over long-off for a massive six. The ball travelled all the way to hit the roof of the stadium in Dharamsala. The fans were thrilled to witness the huge hit.

The distance of Glenn Maxwell’s six read 104m, which is now the longest of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Team India batter Shreyas Iyer is second on the list with a 101m six which he smashed against Afghanistan earlier in the tournament. Maxwell slammed five boundaries and two sixes in the innings. He finished the innings with 41 runs from 24 deliveries.

Australia secures thrilling win against New Zealand

Australia defeated New Zealand by five runs in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in Dharamsala. Batting first they put on 388 runs on the board. Travis Head slammed a century in the innings, while there were also some key contributions from others. David Warner smashed 81 runs laying a solid platform.

In response, New Zealand seemed to be on course, however, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Australian pacer Mitchell Starc defended 19 runs off the final over to win the match for his team. Adam Zampa picked up three wickets in the innings. Australia is currently fourth on the table with four wins from six matches.
