Team India’s wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul is gearing up for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023. He has adopted a unique wicket-keeping drill to prepare for the marquee event ahead of India’s second warm-up match of the tournament against the Netherlands in Thiruvananthapuram

In a segment shared by Starsports which spoke about India’s training session, KL Rahul can be seen doing his batting and wicket-keeping drills. However, his wicket-keeping drills caught the fan’s attention. He kept a tyre in front of the stumps to block his vision further. Snippets from the training session have gone viral on social media.

Team India had an optional practice session on Monday, October 2 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram ahead of their second warm-up match. The likes of KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan were seen during the training session. The warm-up match will take place on October 3 in Thiruvananthapuram.

India eyes third ODI World Cup title

Team India will be eyeing their third ODI World Cup title in the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. They won the 1983 and the 2011 editions, which took place in England and India respectively. India hasn’t won an ICC event since the 2013 Champions Trophy. They will be keen to end the decade-long drought.

Rohit Sharma will be leading the Indian 15-member squad at the ICC ODI World Cup. This will be his third ODI World Cup edition and first as the captain. India will play against Australia to begin their campaign on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. They recently defeated Australia at home in a three-match ODI series.
