ICC Cricket World Cup 2023- [WATCH]: Pakistan Players Undergo Intense Training For Their Upcoming Game Against Sri Lanka

Ahead of their 2023 World Cup match against Sri Lanka, Pakistan‘s players had an intense net session. The match is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 10, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, commencing at 2:00 PM (IST).

Despite a top-order struggle, the team led by Babar Azam secured a victory against the Netherlands, thanks to middle-order half-centuries from Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan, resulting in an 81-run win.

On Tuesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a sneak peek of Pakistan’s net practice session before their game against Sri Lanka on their official Instagram account.

“Babar Azam’s last big knock came against Nepal”- Aakash Chopra thoughts on Pakistan’s batting unit ahead of Sri Lanka match

Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra provided an analysis of the upcoming 2023 World Cup match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. He highlighted Pakistan’s consistent top-order struggles, which have been adding pressure to the middle order.

He suggested that the team management might consider alternative options, possibly including Abdullah Shafique, who performed well in the limited opportunity he had during the Asia Cup.

Chopra discussed this in a video posted on his YouTube channel:

“The openers are not scoring runs at all. You can’t even remember the last time the openers scored runs. Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq will have another chance here, play well here at least.”

He continued:

“Let’s be fair, even Babar Azam’s last big knock came against Nepal. That was August, September had not even started. Babar Azam has also not scored runs since then. Will they think about something else? They also have Abdullah Shafique in the squad and he did well in the one match he played in the Asia Cup.”
