ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: [WATCH]- Rahmanullah Gurbaz Reacts After Being Run Out Against Afghanistan

Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the opener for Afghanistan, became visibly upset after being run out for 80 against England in the 2023 World Cup match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, October 15. Gurbaz, a right-handed batsman, fell short of a well-deserved century when Afghanistan’s captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, ran him out despite hitting the ball straight into the fielder’s hands.

Gurbaz also scored 80 runs from 57 balls, including four sixes and eight boundaries. He also had a partnership of 114 runs with Ibrahim Zadran (28 off 48) for the opening wicket. The wicket fell in the 19th over when Adil Rashid delivered a flighted ball just off the off-stump. Shahidi attempted a drive, but it ended up on the inner part and went towards the short mid-wicket fielder, David Willey.

Shahidi and Gurbaz attempted a run, but Willey swiftly fielded the ball, and wicketkeeper Jos Buttler removed the bails quickly. Gurbaz dived but the replays revealed he was considerably far from the crease. After getting out, Gurbaz vented his frustration by hitting the ground with his bat.
