ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: [WATCH] Ravindra Jadeja’s Superb Catch Dismisses Glenn Phillips; Draws A Reaction From His Wife, Rivaba

Ravindra Jadeja took a spectacular catch to dismiss New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips in the 2023 World Cup match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Wednesday. In the 43rd over of New Zealand’s innings, Jasprit Bumrah delivered a slower ball, leading to Glenn Phillips mistiming his lofted drive.

The ball gained more height than distance. Positioned at long-off, Jadeja skillfully moved to his left, maintaining focus on the ball, and successfully completed the catch near the boundary ropes.

The wicket not only ended the significant 75-run partnership between Phillips and Daryl Mitchell but also prompted an appreciative wave from Jadeja towards the cheering crowd.

Promptly, a cameraperson captured the reaction of Ravindra Jadeja’s wife, Rivaba, to the exceptional catch.

India’s comprehensive performance secured a 70-run victory against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium, propelling them to the 2023 World Cup final. The final showdown is set for Sunday, November 19, at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The Men in Blue will face the winner of the second semi-final between South Africa and Australia. In the first semi-final, India chose to bat and posted a formidable 397/4 in 50 overs. Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer played stellar innings, each scoring a century.

Kohli notched up 117 runs off 113 balls, featuring two sixes and nine boundaries, while Iyer contributed 105 runs off 70 deliveries, including eight sixes and four boundaries.

Shubman Gill, who retired due to injury, remained not out on 80 from 66 deliveries. In addition, India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, contributed 47 runs off 29 balls, and KL Rahul remained unbeaten with 39 off 20.

However, Williamson and Mitchell did a great job, forming a strong partnership and scoring a lot of runs. Mitchell played exceptionally well, making 134 runs, while Williamson also contributed with 69 runs.

Shami played a key role by breaking their partnership, taking important wickets, and finishing with the best bowling figures in the 2023 World Cup at 7/57. India successfully got New Zealand out for 327.
