Netherlands all-rounder Teja Nidamanuru took a brilliant catch at the boundary ropes against India to dismiss Shubman Gill in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 match on Sunday, November 12 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. He helped the Netherlands get a much-needed breakthrough in the innings.

Shubman Gill opened the innings for Team India along with Rohit Sharma. He took on the attack to the opposition bowlers. The youngster slammed three boundaries and four sixes to quickly race to fifty off 30 deliveries. However, he fell to Paul van Meekeren for 51 runs owing to a well-judged catch by Teja Nidamanuru.

The incident took place in the 12th over when Paul van Meekeren bowled head-high short delivery to Shubman Gill. The Indian batter pulled away the delivery looking to get another six. However, Teja Nidamanuru took a great catch to end his stay at the crease. Teja perfectly timed his jump caught the ball over his head and then kept his balance to complete the catch. He was just a few inches away from the boundary ropes.

Shubman Gill completes 1500 ODI runs in 2023

Team India batter Shubman Gill accomplished another feat as he completed 1500 runs in ODI cricket in 2023. He got to the landmark with a fifty against the Netherlands in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. He became the fourth Indian to score 1500 runs in a calendar year. Gill joined the likes of He has joined Sachin Tendulkar (1,894 runs in 1998 and 1,611 in 1996), Rahul Dravid (1,761 runs in 1999), and Sourav Ganguly (1,767 runs in 1999 and 1,579 runs in 2000). So far in 2023, the Indian opener has scored 1500 runs at an average of 62.50, with five centuries and eight fifties. He is the leading run-scorer in the ODI cricket format this year.
