ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: [WATCH]- Virat Kohli Hugs Rohit Sharma’s Wife Ritika Sajdeh After India’s Big Win Over Pakistan
Virat Kohli and Ritika Sajdeh hug

After India’s impressive victory over Pakistan in the 2023 World Cup, Virat Kohli exchanged a cordial hug with Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, during the celebratory moments at the team hotel in Ahmedabad. Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, the team secured a dominant seven-wicket win on October 14, propelling them to the top of the 2023 World Cup points table. India’s undefeated streak against Pakistan in ODI World Cups now stands at 8-0.

The bowling team laid the foundation for the win through their collective performance. They dismissed Pakistan for 191 runs in 42.5 overs on a reasonable pitch. India, in response, efficiently chased down the target in only 30.3 overs, thanks to Rohit’s explosive 86-run inning. Shreyas Iyer contributed with a smooth half-century.

A fan posted a video on social media, providing a glimpse of the Indian cricketers and their arrival at the team hotel following the match. The video captures Virat Kohli entering the hotel with his wife, Anushka Sharma. Inside, Ritika Sajdeh, who was already present, enthusiastically exchanged a high five with Kohli before they shared a hug, likely in celebration of the victory.

We don’t want to get too excited: Rohit Sharma’s remarks after the win against Pakistan

During the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma mentioned that his team doesn’t plan to get overly excited following a comprehensive win against Pakistan. Regarding the victory, he commented:

“We don’t want to get too excited or too low as well. We want to stay balanced and that’s the key playing a tournament like the World Cup. We’ve got to keep calm, keep it balanced and keep moving forward. (Relief that this game is out of the way?) I’ve said it quite a few times now – we wanted to play against a quality opposition and that’s how we want to look at this World Cup.”

He added: “Every opposition is a quality opposition and can beat you on a particular day. What has happened in the past or what will happen in the future doesn’t matter. We’ve got to do well on that particular day.”

India’s next match is against Bangladesh on October 19 in Pune. This resounding victory over Pakistan has positioned India as one of the top, if not the top, contenders for the title.
