ICC Releases New Rankings, KL Rahul At Career Best Position In T20I

International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the recent World Rankings of the shortest format after India whitewashed the Kiwis in a five match T20 series. 

The most notable increment was of Indian Batsman KL Rahul, who had a fantastic series against New Zealand where the Indian flamboyant Batsman scored an aggregate of 224 runs in the series. He also became the first Indian to score more than 200 runs in a bilateral series. 

KL Rahul got a career best position after his exploits against the Kiwis, in the T20 series. Rahul went to career best second position, where as Rohit Sharma made a comeback to the top 10 after his performance against New Zealand. Shreyas Iyer who has performed very well for India in the controversial No.4 position moved up by 63 positions to 55. Manish Pandey who was India's hero in the Wellington T20 has moved up 12 positions to 58. 

There are three Indian batsmen in the top 10 rankings as the Indian Captain Virat Kohli retained his position after scoring 105 runs from 4 innings in New Zealand, which had 1 half-century.

Babar Azam is still at the top of the rankings after the series win as captain against Bangladesh at home. 

Pakistani veteran Shoaib Malik and Mohammed Hafeez retained their ranings of 45 and 71 in the ranking of best batsmen. 

Kane Williamson moved upto 16th Position after having a good series with the bat as the Kiwi Captain scored 160 runs from 3 innings . Tim Seifert also moved up in the rankings chart from 73rd to 34th.

Left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has moved up from 72nd to 39th position with two wickets in the series, which the home side won 2-0, with one match abandoned, to retain the top rank in the ICC T20I Rankings. 

Rashid Khan topped the rankings for bowlers as the Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah made a comeback at the 11th Position after an injury layover.
