Team India play for pride after being knocked out of the ICC T20 World Cup by New Zealand. Their win against Afghanistan on Sunday meant that India’s campaign in this World Cup is all but over. Pakistan and New Zealand have advanced to the semis from group 2 while England and Australia from group 1. Aakash Chopra, in his latest Youtube video, has previewed the game and spoke about the possible changes in the Indian XI for the dead rubber.

While speaking about the possible changes Aakash Chopra mentioned a certain Rahul Chahar who is yet to play a game in this campaign. He said the Chahar is likely to play but who will he replace in the XI is a big question.

“Is there any scope of change in this encounter? One mind says to play whoever is left but then you turn around and see who is sitting outside? The only player who has not played is Rahul Chahar.”

Rahul Chahar says his childhood dream is to play Tests for India

“You can play Rahul Chahar but for whom will you play him? Either you will play him for Varun or Jaddu. You might not play him for Jaddu because you don’t have any other all-rounder. Ashwin – you have anyway got him back after a long time, he is doing well” Chopra further added.

The former Indian batsman also spoke about the possible batting line-up for India. He said that ideally, India would like to stick with Rohit Sharma-KL Rahul at the top. India changed their batting line-up against New Zealand and paid a heavy price for it. It was the defeat against the Kiwis which ended India’s campaign then and there.

Don’t Disturb Rahul-Rohit Pair: Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra feels Team India should continue to open with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul

“Ishan Kishan had played one match. You will not want to make SKY sit out here. You don’t want to disturb Rahul and Rohit. This is Virat Kohli’s last match as T20I skipper, so you will not ask him to rest as well.”

“So, whom can you replace? You won’t ask Rishabh Pant to leave as well. Maybe you can ask Hardik to sit out, so that you can give Ishan one match. But that’s about it. I don’t see much scope of change in this team for this encounter.”

There is a possibility of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami being rested since it’s a dead rubber game with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shardul Thakur leading the pace attack.
