Jason Roy was ruled out of the rest of the ICC T20 World Cup after picking up an injury in the game against South Africa. James Vince as added to the squad as his replacement. Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra has given his suggestion as to who can open alongside Jos Buttler in the semi-final against New Zealand.

England are spoilt for choices with Vince, Sam Billings and Jonny Bairstow as options. However, Aakash Chopra has given put his money on Billings.

“I see just one forced change in the England lineup. They should bring in Sam Billings and open with Bairstow. I am not saying James Vince to be played in the XI because Billings has been sitting out for a long time. He is a damn good player.”

Chopra further said that England should not make any more changes to their batting lineup and send Dawid Malan at number three.

“So play Billings in the team, there is no other scope of change in the team. You can leave Dawid Malan at No. 3. You try to make as few changes as possible, especially at the last moment” added Chopra.

England Have All Their Bases Covered: Aakash Chopra

The cricketer turned commentator further that England have all their bases covered which is what will keep them ahead of New Zealand in the contest.

England have a well-rounded bowling attack

“Mark Wood, Chris Jordan and Chris Woakes will be your three fast bowlers. You have two spinners in Moeen Ali and Rashid. Liam Livingstone can also bowl. So, this is a very very fine well-oiled unit.”

He concluded by stating that England’s all-out attacking approach is their biggest plus point.

“What works in England’s favor, which all of us should learn from them is that they play with a philosophy. They play with a brand, whether it is the first match or the last, knockout or final, it does not make a difference.”

Aakash Chopra backed England the game and advance to the final as he concluded his segment.

“England to win, I am going with England to win and making it to the finals. But this is what I am saying” concluded Chopra.
