Afghanistan takes on Scotland in match 17 of the ICC T20 World Cup in Sharjah on Monday. The venue hosted a few qualifier games and is set to host eight league games starting with this one. The Scottish side made their way through from the qualifiers onto the next round while the Afghans obtained a direct qualification. This is also the first Super 12 game for both sides which also kickstarts their campaign in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. 

 Beating West Indies in the last warm-up game would have boosted the confidence of Afghanistan. All the players are in excellent shape and will be confident of causing a few upsets in this World Cup. The trio of Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman will be lethal for them on the turning track of Sharjah.

Scotland would like to begin their campaign on a winning note as they have matches against India, Pakistan and New Zealand to follow. Having made the Super 12 stage, it will be interesting to see the brand of cricket that they play against tougher teams. Scotland topped Group B standings in first round, having won all their 3 matches played.

Date & Time: 25th October at 7:30 PM IST and 6:00 PM Local Time

Pitch Report:

The pitches have started producing a few more runs in the T20 World Cup than they did in the IPL. Scored around 170 were breached in the qualifiers. It will be interesting to see if either of these teams can make that score batting first. 

Spinners will find it difficult to grip the ball once the dew sets in in the second half.
