Babar Azam-led Pakistan is on a roll here at the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in Group 2 of the Super 12 league matches. They are on a winning streak at the moment beating India and New Zealand comprehensively making it 2 wins in 2 matches. They’re the table-toppers at the moment with 4 points and an excellent Net Run rate of +0.738.

At the moment, Pakistan is playing Afghanistan at the Dubai International Stadium. Mohammad Nabi and his men have decided to bat first and have gotten off to a decent start to their innings.

Meanwhile, West Indies legendary batsmen Brian Lara had his say on Pakistan’s performance in this T20 World cup and how positively it is affecting India at the moment. Not to forget, Pakistan beat India in their first match in the tournament by 10 wickets which is a huge margin to win over any team on a world stage.

Brain Lara feels Pakistan’s run in this tournament and if they’re unbeaten till the knockout stages, it is very good news for the Indian dugout. He said to the Start sports official broadcasters:

“India now have to beat New Zealand. Of course, they have other games to play but Pakistan running away at the top is perfect for India to sort of look for that second spot.”

Brian Lara further explained his statement, he said that he had led his national team in the past and as a captain of the side, one wants that the team that beats them to go all the way and win every game and be the table toppers and it sets you properly for being in the second-place so you can qualify for the playoffs and go ahead in the huge tournament. As we all know, only the top two teams will qualify for the knockout matches from both groups.

“India now have to beat New Zealand. Of course, they have other games to play but Pakistan running away at the top is perfect for India to sort of look for that second spot,” Brian Lara concluded.
