Virat Kohli’s 57 came to no avail as India lost to Pakistan in their opening game in the ICC T20 World Cup in Dubai. KL Rahul also scored in single digit as the Indian top-order failed to resist the Pakistan bowlers in the game. Unfortunately, both of them have dropped down in the latest ICC rankings. There are some serious changes in the order with new names coming into the top 10.

Dawid Malan continues to be at the top while Pakistan skipper Babar Aazam has entered the top three being in second place. Aiden Markram from South Africa is third on the list. Aaron Finch, Devon Conway, Evin Lewis and Hazratullah Zazai complete the top 10.

Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan continues to the top-ranked all-rounder in the format. He has delivered some notable performances in this World Cup so far. Shakib has been the most successful bowler in the tournament, with 11 wickets in four matches. He has also scored 118 runs and is third on the batting charts.

This Is Just The First Game Of The Tournament: Virat Kohli

Indian skipper Virat Kohli was matured enough to handle the loss sensibly at the post-match press conference where he faced a series of audacious questions from the journalists.

Meanwhile, Kohli in the post-match presentation said that it is just the start of the tournament and the side has a chance to make a comeback in the remaining games.

“We needed those 15-20 extra runs and for that we needed a good start but Pakistan’s bowling didn’t allow us to get those extra runs. We could make the argument of getting in another slower bowler, but it’s important to stay composed and understand our strengths, because with the dew the slower bowlers couldn’t be effective either. This is just the first game of the tournament, not the last” said Kohli.
