“Just a little sore” – Rohit Sharma Shares Injury Update Post IND vs IRE 2024 T20 World Cup Match

Team India captain Rohit Sharma provided an injury update following their convincing win against Ireland today (June 5). The Indian team started their T20 World Cup 2024 journey with an impressive eight-wicket victory over Ireland at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

In pursuit of 97 runs, India faced an early setback with the dismissal of Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma also encountered some initial difficulties before settling into his groove. He crafted an impressive half-century but had to retire hurt due to a shoulder injury.

Despite visibly experiencing pain and requiring assistance from the physio, Rohit assured fans that the injury wasn’t serious, alleviating their concerns.

When questioned about the injury by the host broadcaster after the match, he responded:

“Just a little sore (the arm).”

In addition to India’s commanding win, the center of attention was the wicket in New York. Shedding light on the pitch utilized for today’s match, Rohit Sharma remarked:

“We were quite unsure of what to expect of the pitch. It’s a new ground, new venue, drop-in pitch. Not really aware of what it is like playing on a pitch, which is five months old. It was all about getting used to the conditions, so that’s why we bowled first to look at the conditions, see how the pitch plays,” Rohit Sharma said.

“Don’t think the wicket settled down when we batted second. To get those two points was very important. When there’s enough on the pitch, you’ve got to stick to the basics, think of bowling Test match lengths, try and hit them consistently,” he added.
