The 20 teams for the T20 World Cup 2023 have been announced to be played in the West Indies and the United States of America. It promises to be an exciting tournament with associate nations getting a chance to play in this mega event.
West Indies and the United States of America qualified as the co- Australia, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka progressed in the top 8 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 played in Australia. Afghanistan and Bangladesh progessed in the mega event because of rankings as of 14th November 2022.
Ireland and Scotland made it into the T20 World Cup finishing in the top 2 stage of Europe qualifiers played from 20th-28th July 2023. Papua New Guinea was the sole team to qualify for this event from the East Asia Pacific qualifiers played from 22nd-29th July 2023 in Papua New Guinea.
Canada made it into their first T20 World Cup tournament in the Americas qualifiers played from 30th September to 7th October 2023 in Bermuda.
Nepal and Oman made it into the mega event from the Asia qualifiers played in Nepal from 30th October to 5th November 2023.
Namibia and Uganda progressed into the mega event through Africa qualifiers from 22nd-30th November 2023 in Namibia.

Format of the Tournament
The teams will be divided into four groups with five teams including single round-robin matches. The top two in each group will qualify for the Super 8 stage.
The teams will be divided into four teams in both groups with the top two teams will qualify for the semi-finals.
Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Gros Islet, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago will host matches in West Indies, Grand Prairie Stadium, Central Boward Park, Lauderhill and, East Meadow will host fixtures in the USA.
