ICC T20 World Cup 2024: SWOT Analysis Of Bangladesh

Right before the T20 World Cup, Bangladesh suffered a 1-2 series loss to the United States of America. They would be looking to prove everybody wrong with some lovely performances against Sri Lanka, South Africa, Nepal, and the Netherlands. Bangladesh will begin their journey against Sri Lanka in a mouth-watering clash to be played on 7th June at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas, Texas.

They need a good start against rivalries and hope to create pressure on the opponents. Bangladesh never performed well in T20 World Cup history. They suffered losses to India, Pakistan, and South Africa during the 2022 edition played in Australia. Bangladesh featured in all the editions of T20 World Cups since 2007.

Their record has been poor with 38 matches being played with only 9 wins, 28 losses and 1 no-result. Bangladesh’s best performance was when they reached the Super 8 stage in the 2007 edition of the World Cup played in South Africa.

Their youngsters including Jaker Ali, Tanvir Islam, and a few others would be playing their first World Cup needs to come up with goods if given a chance to play XI.

Shakib AL Hasan and Mahmudullah might be playing their last T20 World Cup for Bangladesh. They would be eager to play good cricket and help them to qualify for the Super 8 stage.

It is a chance for Bangladesh players to step up with their performances and ensure that they can defeat the likes of South Africa, and Sri Lanka.

The major threat for the Bangladesh team is the inconsistency with their performance. They must ensure they play good cricket to avoid slip-ups against the Netherlands and Nepal.
