ICC T20 World Cup 2024: [WATCH]- Sybrand Engelbrecht Makes A Spectacular Catch To Dismiss Litton Das Early In The BAN vs NED Match

Netherlands‘ Sybrand Engelbrecht pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Bangladesh opener Litton Das early in the 2024 T20 World Cup Group D match in Kingstown on Thursday (June 13). This exceptional catch sent Das back to the pavilion with just one run from two balls. As a result, the Netherlands reduced Bangladesh to 23/2 in 3.1 overs.

Aryan Dutt delivered a full-length ball outside off, prompting Litton to shuffle across for a slog sweep. The right-hander got more height than distance, allowing Engelbrecht to move to his left from deep square leg and complete a diving catch with both hands.

Aryan Dutt gives Netherlands a strong start against Bangladesh in the 2024 T20 World Cup match

Aryan Dutt’s impressive bowling performance enabled the Netherlands to dominate Bangladesh in the early stages of their 2024 T20 World Cup match. This followed skipper Scott Edwards’ decision to bowl first after winning the toss, following a brief rain delay.

In addition to dismissing Litton Das, Aryan Dutt also removed Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto for just one run off three deliveries.

At the time of writing, Bangladesh was 76/3 after 10 overs, with Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy at the crease. The winner of this game will enhance their chances of securing a spot in the Super Eight stage.

Bangladesh won their opening match against Sri Lanka by two wickets but lost to South Africa by four runs in their previous outing. They will play their final group-stage game against Nepal in St. Vincent on Sunday, June 16.

The Netherlands began their 2024 T20 World Cup campaign with a six-wicket victory over Nepal. They faced a four-wicket defeat to the Proteas in their subsequent match. The Dutch team will conclude their group-stage fixtures against Sri Lanka in St. Lucia on June 16.
