Umran Malik has impressed everyone with his express pace in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL). He is consistently crossing the 150 KMPH barrier which has caught the attention of lots of cricket fans and experts. It’s a beautiful sight to see an Indian fast bowler bowl with sheer raw pace.

Several Indian fans believe that Umran Malik should be included in the Indian T20I team for the T20 World Cup because of his express pace which would be helpful in Australia Recently, former Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal too voiced his opinion on it. Akmal believes that Umran Malik should be included in the Indian T20I team.

“If Umran Malik was in Pakistan, I think he would have made it to the national team. His economy is high but he has got pace and is getting wickets too. Strike bowlers are like that. Brett Lee was like that. Shoaib (Akhtar) Bhai was like that. In Australia pace will definitely matter.”, said Kamran Akmal in an interview to paktv.tv.

Kamran Akmal also said that Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umran Malik would form a great bowling lineup for the T20 WC in Australia. He said, “Umran will form a great pace line up with Shami, Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar. It will be difficult to face such an attack.”

Kamran Akmal appreciates emergence of Indian Pacers

The former cricketer also appreciated the emergence of Indian fast bowlers in the last five years. Akmal said that the Indian team has got a great bunch of genuine fast Bowlers now, which wasn’t the case for them in earlier generations. Kamran Akmal believes that there is healthy competition between fast bowlers in the Indian team.

“So, there is a healthy competition for a spot in the Indian cricket team. Earlier, there used to be no genuine fast bowlers in the Indian team and now they have a battery of pace bowlers. You see they have Navdeep Saini, Siraj, Shami and Bumrah and  Umesh Yadav. So, they now have 10 to 12 fast bowlers and it’s becoming difficult for them,” he said.
