Former Indian bowler Ravichandran Ashwin supported Virat Kohli’s retirement message saying he will be there for Kohli’s box day game against Australia on December 26. Kohli, who mentioned Ashwin as a “Legend of Indian Cricket” posted an emotional message stating how Ashwin is a match-winner in Test cricket.
Ashwin also refreshes the memories of Indian cricket fans about the impressive innings both players played as a part of the 2022 T20 World Cup, playing against Pakistan.
The five-match series is still tied at one-all after an engaging draw in the Brisbane Test and Kohli, who is comfortably in hit-and-miss form with the bat, appears all fired up to go for the big punch in the Boxing Day Test. Kohli received some words of encouragement from Ashwin for the India’s fourth Test.
“Thanks buddy! Like I told you, I will be walking out with you to bat at the MCG,” Ashiwn responded.
An era comes to an end with Ashwin’s retirement, but his legacy endures. He is India’s second-highest wicket-taker with 537 in 106 Test matches, only beaten by Anil Kumble.
