IND vs AFG: [WATCH] Shivam Dube Hits Three Consecutive Sixes Against Mohammad Nabi In The 2nd T20I

In the second T20I against Afghanistan in Indore, Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube showcased remarkable form, scoring an outstanding unbeaten 63 from 32 balls at a striking rate of 196.88. This powerful innings, featuring five fours and four sixes, included three consecutive sixes off Mohammad Nabi’s deliveries in the 10th over, essentially sealing the game for India.

The initial delivery landed on a length in the middle and leg, prompting a shimmy down the track. The subsequent shorter ball was met with a slog-sweep, while the third, a full-toss, was powerfully struck—all three shots finding the same deep mid-wicket region.

Dube achieved his fifty in only 22 deliveries, marking the third-quickest in T20I history.

“I’m showing my gratitude for the trust Rohit Sharma placed in me”- Shivam Dube

Following the game, Dube discussed Captain Rohit Sharma’s confidence in him and the 92-run partnership he shared with Yashasvi Jaiswal.

“He (Rohit) is really pleased with my performance and I’m repaying the faith he’s put in me. We both (him and Jaiswal) are strong players, we know our game, my role was to take on the spinners, Jaiswal was already playing well and we wanted to finish the game as soon as possible,” he said.

“There wasn’t any target in the mind, we have finished on time. Not thinking to hit out of the ground, but definitely out of the park. There are many things I worked on, it is about mentally in T20s and how you handle the pressure, we focused on it and not hitting all the balls importantly.”

“I’m working on by bowling as well, got the three overs today, wasn’t great today and that’s how it goes in T20’s, not all the days are same,” Dube added.

India won two out of three matches in the series and will try to win the last one on Wednesday, January 17, for a clean sweep.
