Team India captain Rohit Sharma playfully exchanged banter with former leg-spinner Amit Mishra during a practice session before the third ODI against Australia. Sharma, who was rested for the first two matches along with Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Kuldeep Yadav, joined the Indian squad in Rajkot for the upcoming match.

Rohit Sharma and his teammates engaged in a practice session in preparation for the match at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. The Jio Cinema broadcasting team, including Amit Mishra, Abhishek Nayar, and Deep Dasgupta, had the opportunity to chat with Sharma on the field.

In their discussion, Rohit Sharma inquired from Amit Mishra: “Aankh kyun laal ho gaya aapka?”

Mishra mentioned that he had only three hours of sleep that night. Sharma commended Mishra’s dedication to the job and jokingly remarked that Mishra never did that when playing for him. Amit Mishra responded by saying that Rohit never gave him an opportunity to play.

“In the last couple of games, we saw how well he bowled” – Rohit Sharma on Ravichandran Ashwin’s performance for the World Cup

In a press conference before the 3rd ODI, Rohit Sharma praised Ravichandran Ashwin for his consistent performance in his return to the ODI side against Australia. The Indian captain highlighted that Ashwin has expanded his range of skills, indicating he’s prepared to be included in the World Cup squad if the need arises. Rohit Sharma mentioned:

“He’s got the class; he’s got the experience of playing the sport and handling the pressure. It’s just that he hasn’t played ODIs in the last year or so, but you can’t take away the class and the experience that the individual has.”

”In the last couple of games, we saw how well he bowled. He has got a lot of variations up his sleeves and in case, there is a chance, we can look at a lot of things.”

He continued: “The way things are at this point in time, it does well for us because we have got all the back-ups ready. We have given them enough game time, a lot of time in the middle as well. So, pretty much happy with how things have panned out in the last couple of weeks.”
