IND vs ENG: It Has Been A Series Of Comebacks For Us – Rohit Sharma

Team India skipper Rohit Sharma is pleased with the team’s performance in the ongoing test series against England. They have already sealed the series, winning three test matches, heading into the fifth at Dharamsala.

India lost the first test at Hyderabad but made an outstanding comeback in Visakhapatnam. They defeated England by 106 runs and then followed it up with a huge win by 434 runs in Rajkot. England couldn’t recover from the loss. They also lost the fourth test by five wickets. The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Akash Deep and Dhruv Jurel have had an impressive series for India. They have played a crucial role in the team’s win. Jaiswal is the leading run-scorer with 655 runs at an average of 93.57, including a double-century.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma expressed that their performance has been satisfying. He said,

“For me, the way we won in the series is more satisfying. It has been a series of comebacks for us. Whenever we have been under pressure, we could absorb it and fight back.”

Whether it’s rank turner or any other pitch, intent is to win: Rohit Sharma

Rohit said despite the conditions on offer, they have intended to win the match. He also expressed that India might play an extra seamer, based on the conditions in Dharamsala. The fifth test will kick off on Thursday, March 7 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.

“Whether it’s rank turner or any other pitch, the intent is to win. Even on rank turners, advantages and disadvantages are for both teams,” Sharma said on the conditions.

“There is a good chance to play extra seamer. We have not yet completely decided on it but there is a good chance,” he added.

India ranks at the top of the World Test Championship (2023-25 cycle) with 62 points and a PCT of 64.58. They have won five matches, and lost two, while one ended in a draw.
