Mohammed Siraj picks his five wicket haul in Test matches

Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj has been released from the squad for the second Test against England, which kicked off on Friday, February 2 at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Avesh Khan has re-joined the team for the second Test.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a statement on the morning of the second test. Mohammed Siraj has been released considering the workload as the series is five tests long. He will rejoin the team in Rajkot for the third Test match. Meanwhile, Avesh Khan who was released for the first Test, has re-joined the team for the second.

The BCCI wrote,” Mr Mohd. Siraj has been released from the India squad for the second Test against England in Vizag. The decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and the amount of cricket he has played in recent times. He will be available for selection for the third Test in Rajkot. Avesh Khan has re-joined the team for the 2nd Test.”

Rajat Patidar makes test debut for India

Rajat Patidar made his Test debut for India in the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam. He was handed the cap before the start of the test by former India pacer Zaheer Khan. Patidar has a first-class average of 45.97, scoring 4000 runs, including 12 centuries. He replaced KL Rahul in the playing XI, who was ruled out due to an injury. Meanwhile, Mukesh Kumar came in place of Ravindra Jadeja, who was also injured.
