His recovery progress is eagerly awaited, with anticipation building around his possible inclusion in the upcoming matches. Meanwhile, in another momentous development, Jasprit Bumrah achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Indian pacer to claim the top spot in the ICC Test rankings.
Bumrah’s outstanding performance against England in Visakhapatnam, where he claimed nine wickets in the match, propelled him past renowned bowlers such as Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, and Ravichandran Ashwin, placing him among the elite few from his country to reach the pinnacle of Test rankings.
Bumrah’s stellar showing not only earned him the Player of the Match award but also brought an end to Ashwin’s 11-month reign as the top-ranked bowler. Currently boasting 881 rating points, Bumrah stands at the forefront, with Ashwin (904) and Jadeja (899) closely trailing behind.
