IND vs ENG: The Real Showstealer Is BoomBall – Ravichandran Ashwin Hails Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah becomes number 1 ranked Test bowler

Team India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin heaped praise on Jasprit Bumrah for his brilliant performance in the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam. He took nine wickets in the innings powering India to a 106 runs win. The five-match series now stands equalled after the first two Tests.

Hailing Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin coined a two-term ‘BoomBall’. He congratulated the pacer on his performance and also for becoming the No. 1 ranked Test bowler. Jasprit Bumrah also completed 150 Test wickets in his career. In a video on his YouTube channel, Ravichandran Ashwin said,

“The real showstealer is BoomBall. Jasprit Bumrah has bowled extraordinarily. He is the leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets and also the No.1 ranked Test bowler. I am a huge fan of his and this is a Himalayan feat.”

Shubman Gill was struggling to score runs in red-ball cricket off late. However, he made a roaring comeback slamming a century in the second innings of the second Test. He scored 104 runs from 147 deliveries, with eleven boundaries and two sixes.

“There’s no doubt about the amount of talent that Shubman Gill has. But the hundred justified just the kind of armour he had as a batter,” said Ashwin.

Extraordinary vibe on day four: Ravichandran Ashwin

The second Test was at an interesting juncture at the start of the fourth day’s play in Visakhapatnam. England needed 332 runs to win with nine wickets in hand. Ashwin believes India’s energy and their performance won them the match. India bowled England out for 292 runs, with Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin taking three wickets each.

“We came into the fourth day with it all being even stars. But our extraordinary vibe, energy and team performance helped us level the series 1-1,” said Ravichandran Ashwin.

The third Test match between India and England will kick off on Thursday, February 15 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
