Indian skipper Rohit Sharma looked in good touch during the ongoing Day and Night test match against Sri Lanka at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, his innings was short-lived as he was dismissed for 15 runs.

During his knock, Rohit Sharma slammed Vishwa Fernando for a six in the sixth over. Rohit rocked back, to hit Fernando over deep-wicket for a six. However, the ball struck a spectator in the stands.

Gaurav Vikas Parvar, 22, was soon taken to HOSMAT hospital on Magrath Road after being hit by the ball. He was left with a nasal bone fracture and a cut injury, as reported by Deccan Herald.

Dr. Ajit Benedict Rayan, Medical Director and Vice-President of HOSMAT, who was present in the stadium during the match, said they dressed the wound first and immediately sent him to the hospital.

“I was watching the match behind the pavilion and saw a young man in the deep stand being hit by the ball. He was brought to the medical room in the stadium by KSCA (Karnataka State Cricket Association) volunteers,” Dr. Ajith was quoted as saying by the Deccan Herald.

“We dressed the wound with a compression bandage and sent him to the hospital in an ambulance. The X-ray showed a hairline fracture of the nasal bone that didn’t need surgery. He needed stitches though. The suture will be removed in a week,” Dr. Ajit added.

The spectator is doing well, confirmed his brother to the Deccan Herald. Meanwhile, India put on 252 runs in the first innings. In response, they bowled Sri Lanka out for 109 runs.
