The 37-year-old India international Stuart Binny has announced his retirement from international and first-class cricket with immediate effect. Binny represented India six Tests, 14 One-dayers, and three T20I matches from 2014 to 2016.
Much like his father Roger, Stuart Binny was a hard-hitting batsman in the lower middle order and a bowler of medium-paced swing and seam. He was handy in seaming conditions and had a happy knack of scoring runs in the lower and could play the long handle seemingly.

“I would like to inform that I have decided to retire from international and first-class cricket,” Stuart Binny wrote in a statement. “It has given me tremendous joy and pride to have represented my country at the highest international level,” it added.Â
“I would like to acknowledge the huge role that the BCCI have played in my cricketing journey. Their faith and support over the years have been incredible. My cricketing journey would not even have started had it not been for Karnataka state and their support.It has been an honour to captain and win trophies with my state,” it added further.Â

Stuart Binny has scalped 24 international wickets across formats and has also scored 459 runs. He still holds the record for the best ODI figures among India with 6/4 against Bangladesh. Binny’s first-class career spanned for almost two decades where has played 95 matches, scoring 4796 runs and picking up 148 wickets for Karnataka.
He has also represented Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Overall, he has played 95 matches picking up 22 wickets and scoring 880 runs.
In the second innings of his career, Stuart Binny desires to give something back to cricket in the coming days.
“The game of cricket runs through my blood, and I will always back to give back to the game that has given me everything,” it added.Â
