Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria has predicted that an India B team can beat a full-strength Pakistan team led by Babar Azam. The comments came after a young Indian side thumped Sri Lanka in the three-match ODI series with one game to spare.

The Men in Blue pulled off a thrilling win in the 2nd ODI from the jaws of defeat. Chasing 276 runs, they were at 193/7 at one stage but Deepak Chahar added an unbeaten 84 runs with Bhuvneshwar Kumar to take their team home.

Danish Kaneria feels this India B team (which he referred to as) is also capable of winning against a full-strength squad like Pakistan. The 40-year-old added that India showed the fight right till the end in the second ODI and never backed away from playing their natural game.

“The way this Indian team is performing, the way Rahul Dravid has worked with the Indian team he deserves all the praise. The way he has motivated Kuldeep Yadav, even this India B team can certainly beat Pakistan,” Danish Kaneria said on his YouTube Channel.

The former Pakistan spinner also feels Kuldeep Yadav will prosper under the guidance of head coach Rahul Dravid in this series.

With the T20 World Cup only a couple of months away, the predictions have started to come. While a couple of cricketers have backed England to win the tournament, Danish Kaneria believes India and West Indies will be the two finalists of the global T20 meet.

“India is not playing any limited over cricket before the T20 World Cup but playing IPL will keep them in good stead. I think it will be India vs West Indies in the final,” Danish Kaneria concluded.
