Team India is gearing up for the five-match test series against England, starting from August 4. The first of the two tour games is live at Chester-le-Street in Durham against County XI from today, July 20.
After opting to bat first the Indian batting line-up is reeling at 80 for three down at the end of the first session. The opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal is back in the hut along with Cheteshwar Pujara. Lyndon James dismissed both the openers – Rohit and Mayank for 9 runs and 28 runs respectively.

Cheteshwar Pujara was stumped by the wicket-keeper James Rew off Jack Carson’s delivery on 21 runs. Middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari and wicket-keeper KL Rahul will resume the Indian innings at 80/3 post Lunch session.

Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane rested in India’s warm-up game
Indian regulars, the likes of skipper Virat Kohli, Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and, Ravichandran Ashwin have been rested for the match against County XI. In their absence, opening batsman Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian team.
Indian bowlers Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar are playing from the County XI squad. Indian wicket-keeper’s Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha were unavailable for selection.
Pant who tested positive for Covid-19 has recovered and will join the bio-bubble soon, while Saha is still in isolation. Saha was a close contact of India’s throwdown specialist Dayanand Garani, who tested positive for the virus last week.
