After winning the toss, England opted to bowl, and Chris Woakes struck early, dismissing KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Shikhar Dhawan within five overs, leaving India at 25/3.

Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni built a massive 256-run partnership for the fourth wicket, dismantling England’s bowling attack. Yuvraj was the aggressor, scoring a career-best 150 at a strike rate of 118.11, with 21 fours and six sixes. He was dismissed at 281 in the 43rd over.

MS Dhoni then entertained the fans with a brilliant knock, attacking the English bowlers to score 134 off 122 balls, including 10 fours and six sixes. India added 100 runs in the last seven overs, finishing at 381/6 in 50 overs.

Chris Woakes was England’s standout bowler, taking 4/60 in 10 overs. Chasing 382, England lost Alex Hales early, but Jason Roy (82) and Joe Root built a quick 100-run stand. However, wickets fell in clusters, with Roy, Ben Stokes (1), and Jos Buttler (10) departing, leaving England struggling at 206/5 in 27.4 overs.

Captain Eoin Morgan led England’s fightback, adding 93 runs for the sixth wicket with Moeen Ali, who scored a quick 55 off 43 before being bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Morgan played a brilliant knock of 102 off 81 balls, mixing aggression with composure, but was run out in the penultimate over as England fell short.

England fell just 15 runs short, giving India a 2-0 lead in the series. Ravichandran Ashwin was the standout bowler, taking 3/65 in 10 overs. It was a thrilling contest, with the hosts keeping their composure to secure a hard-fought victory.
