Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravichandran Ashwin, India’s two most experienced bowlers took two wickets each. Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Siraj took one each.
“After losing an early one, it was about putting a partnership together after the powerplay. This contributed to a fair team total. It’s nice to get a chance and the guys played well in the World Cup. Glad to get a few out of the middle and just be out there with Guptill. A few balls keeping low and stopping, so it’s a competitive total, and we back our bowling side to do a good job defending this” said Chapman on his innings after the game and also spoke about how the pitch behaved.
India are chasing 166 to win the first T20I. India have won 17 out of their last 21 games while chasing at home. Out of the four defeats, three have come against the Kiwis. The Black Caps also got the better of Team India recently in the T20n World Cup tie.
