Team India suffered a disappointing an innings and 32 runs in the first Test match played at Super Sport Park, Centurion on 28th December 2023.

Prasidh Krishna made his Test debut against South Africa in the first encounter but could not extract the bounce he was known for. He lacked the penetration and gave runs that did not allow the other Indian bowlers to control the run flow.

He was expensive with 93 runs in his 20 overs and grabbed the wicket of Kyle Verryene. His inability to bowl at decent line and lengths made life tough for Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

  1. Irfan Pathan- 1/136 vs Aus-2003

The left arm medium pace bowler Irfan Pathan had a disappointing outing on his debut Test match against Australia at Adelaide Oval during the 2003-04 Border Gavaskar Series. Irfan Pathan got off to a perfect start as he dismissed Matthew Hayden cheaply, but the Aussies batters looked at ease.

Irfan Pathan ended the first innings with figures of 1 for 136 in his 27 overs going at an economy of 5.04 runs per over. His bowling was not up to the mark after picking an early wicket.

The Indian team registered memorable 4 wicket victory thanks to VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid 303 runs partnership in the first innings. Ajit Agarkar ripped through the Aussies batting in the 2nd innings.

2. Prasidh Krishna- 0/93 vs South Africa-2023

Prasidh Krishna made his Test debut in the first match of the series against South Africa played at Super Sport Park, Centurion from 26th December 2023. The conditions at Centurion was helpful for the pace bowlers.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj had a decent outing but Prasidh Krishna could not put pressure against South African batters especially against Dean Elgar. He got his maiden Test wicket off Kyle Verryene. His bowling was not up to the mark, picking 1 for 93 in 20 overs.

His bowling did not allow Rohit Sharma to set up attacking fields. Krishna was smashed by Marco Jansen, Elgar and Coetzee on the 3rd morning.

3. Thirumalai Shekhar- 0/86 vs Pakistan-1983

The Indian team toured Pakistan for six match Test series on 1982-83. Indian team lost the series by 0-3. It was a disappointing performance by the Indian team.

Thirumalai Shekhar was given a chance in the 5th Test at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. He could grab any wickets and looked ordinary against Zaheer Abbas and other Pakistani batters. Shekhar gave away 86 runs in his 20 overs and could not pick any wickets going at an economy of 4.3 runs per over. Kapil Dev had a magical spell with 8 for 85 and bowled out Pakistan for 323.

He was appointed as the manager of the Delhi Daredevils, now Delhi Capitals in 2015. Shekhar played just two Test matches and four ODI matches for Team India.
