India vs South Africa 2020: Hardik Pandya Needs 43 Runs To Enter An Illustrious Chart In ODIs

The swashbuckling Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya will make a return to international cricket after five months during the first ODI against South Africa in Dharamsala. All eyes will be on the flamboyant cricketer on how he makes a comeback and the cricketer needs only 43 runs to enter an elite chart in 50-overs cricket.

Meanwhile, Pandya made a return to action after undergoing surgery on his back which has been troubling him since the 2018 Asia Cup. He was ruled out of the ICC World Cup 2019 midway owing to the same injury which aggravated. Since then, Hardik Pandya has been in and out of the game until returning to action in the DY Patil Cup where he took the tournament by storm with his whirlwind hitting.

The all-rounder from Baroda will hope to make a good comeback and continue his excellent patch of form. Meanwhile, the right-handed batsman is just 43 runs shy of joining an elite list of cricketers. If he manages a score of 43 or plus, Pandya will become only the 13th Indian player — to achieve the double of 1000 runs and 50 wickets in the ODI cricket.

Speaking ahead of his return to the Indian dressing room, Hardik Pandya admitted that he missed this atmosphere in the last six months and is geared up to deliver the best for his side.

“I missed this atmosphere the most in these last six months, playing for the country and the feeling you get wearing the team’s colours,” he said on Chahal TV.

Speaking of the game, India and South Africa have had contrasting fortunes in their most recent ODI series. While South Africa swept Australia aside in the three-match ODI series at home, India were beaten by the same margin in their three ODIs in New Zealand. While the visitors will look to continue their winning run, the Men in Blues will be desperate to come out of the debacle against New Zealand and make a fresh start.
