Orange Jersey

Orange is the new away! Yes, it has been decided that India chose it’s away kit as an orange jersey. In the upcoming World Cup, it has been decided that teams having blue as their prime colour will have to vary their kit.

This World Cup is played in the home and away format.  India having their primary home kit as the dark blue one, will have to change to the orange one for a few games.

India, England, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka all have blue as the primary kit. Keeping that in mind, England being the home country will not need an away kit. Hence everyone else will have to change. They have hit the retro form as their kit replicates the kit of 1992 World Cup.

Afghanistan and Bangladesh will have a red coloured away kit. Sri Lanka and South Africa have also affirmed to their away kit. South Africa has a yellow coloured away kit which they will wear if and when required. Countries like Australia, New Zealand and West Indies have distinct home kits hence for them the problem of getting an away kit never arose.

India would wear the royal blue colour, in all their matches except two. The yet-to-be-released away Orange kit would be seen in games versus Afghanistan (which is on June 22) and England (which is on June 30). For the rest of the games, India has been listed as the home side or have a different colour jersey.

India begins its World Cup campaign on June 5 against South Africa. Their practice games against New Zealand and Bangladesh are on May 25 and May 28 respectively.
