The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India women’s cricket team squad for the five-match home T20 series against visiting Australia women’s cricket team, starting on December 9. This is a great preparation for Women in Blue before the T20 World Cup to be played in South Africa next year.
It looks like a strong unit that comprises top-quality players. The team will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur.
Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, and Sabbihiehni Meghana are the three openers in the squad. The middle order comprises Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia, Harleen Deol, and Richa Ghosh. Devika Vaidya and Anjali Sarvani are the new faces included in the squad.
The pace bowling options comprise Renuka Singh and Meghana Singh. These two young Indian pacers did well for the Indian team during the recently concluded Asia Cup and Commonwealth Games 2022.

Indian team has top-quality spinners in form of Deepti Sharma, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Radha Yadav, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Harleen Doel. The women in Blue won the Asia Cup title for the seventh time while winning the silver medal during the historic Commonwealth Games 2022.
Arundhati Reddy named as net bowlers for the Australia series
Monika Patel, Arundhati Reddy, Simran Bahadur, and SB Porkhar have been named the net bowlers for the 5-match T20I series. The five-match T20I series will start on 9th December and complete on 20th December. The major omission from the squad has been Pooja Vastrkar ruled out of the series due to an injury.
The first two matches of the series would be played at DY Patil Stadium while the next three matches will take place in CCI, Brabourne Stadium.
It promises to be an exciting series between the top two quality T20I sides. Team India will be looking forward to their star players to lead the team from the front.
