Indian All-Rounder Unwinds With Japanese Anime During IND vs ENG T20Is 2025

Team India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy recently shared an image on his official social media account, revealing that he was watching the Japanese anime series ‘Naruto’. Reddy, who missed the recently concluded T20I in Chennai due to an injury, was out of contention for selection on the ongoing tour.

Nitish is a fan of Japanese anime, as reflected in his Instagram bio, which includes phrases like “Future Hokage” and “Dattebayo.” These phrases, meaning “fire shadow” and “believe it,” are references to ‘Naruto’, the show he was watching.

On Saturday, January 25, Nitish posted a story on his official Instagram account, sharing a picture of him watching an episode of the series, accompanied by the caption:

“Here we go again #Naruto”

Nitish Kumar Reddy Ruled Out of IND vs ENG 2025 T20I Series

Nitish Kumar Reddy has been sidelined from the ongoing T20I series between India and England. According to a report released by the BCCI, the all-rounder will proceed to the BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Bengaluru for continued rehabilitation. The media statement read:

“All-rounder Nitish Reddy sustained a side strain injury in the practice session on 24th January in Chennai. He is ruled out of the ongoing five-match T20I series. Reddy will head to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for further management.”

Shivam Dube and Ramandeep Singh have also been included in the squad by the selectors. Nitish featured in the first T20I between India and England in Kolkata, where he contributed with two catches in the field but had minimal involvement with both bat and ball.

Despite his limited role, the selectors have opted to include other players to strengthen the squad for the upcoming matches.
