BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla has announced that India’s squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy will likely be revealed on January 19. So far, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and England have named their squads for the eight-team ICC event.
The ICC had set January 12 as the deadline for teams to submit their provisional squads for the tournament, which begins on February 19. However, reports indicate that the BCCI may seek an extension and finalize their squad by January 19.
Speaking after a Special General Meeting on Sunday, Shukla told reporters (as quoted by Times of India):
“The Champions Trophy squad is likely to be announced on January 19.”
At the BCCI headquarters meeting, Devajit Saikia and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia were appointed as the board’s new secretary and treasurer, respectively.

The ICC set January 12 as the deadline for all eight teams to confirm their Champions Trophy squads, but changes can be made until February 13. Team India, runners-up in the 2017 edition, lost to Pakistan in the final. While Pakistan will host the 2025 edition, India’s matches will take place in Dubai.
BCCI names T20I squad vs England, delays ODI and Champions Trophy announcements
The BCCI selection committee on Saturday announced a 15-member squad for the five-match home T20I series against England. Suryakumar Yadav remains captain, with Axar Patel appointed as vice-captain.
Pacer Mohammed Shami is set to return to international cricket after over a year, earning a spot in the T20I squad against England. Rishabh Pant has been excluded, with Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel chosen as the two wicketkeeper-batters. Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal miss out, while Abhishek Sharma retains his place.
