Veteran batter Virat Kohli took to social media on Monday, October 31 to express his frustration over the invasion of privacy at the Crown Towers in Perth, where the Indian team was staying for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Following Virat Kohli’s post, the hotel has issued a statement apologizing for the incident.

A video from Virat Kohli’s room went viral on social media, invading the cricketer’s privacy. A hotel staff entered the right-handed batter’s room when he wasn’t there and shot the video, showcasing Kohli’s accessories and wardrobe. Reacting to the incident, Crown Towers, suspended the individuals who were involved.

In a report by Espncricinfo, Crown Towers stated,

“We unreservedly apologize to the guest involved and will continue to take the necessary steps to ensure this remains an isolated incident. Crown has taken immediate steps to rectify the issue. The individuals involved have been stood down and removed from the Crown account, and the original video was swiftly removed from the social media platform.”

“Crown is conducting an investigation with the third-party contractor and will take any further steps necessary to ensure an incident of this nature does not happen again. We are also cooperating with the Indian Cricket team and the International Cricket Council to convey our apologies and will continue to work with them as we progress the investigation,” they added.
