The men in blue have done a commendable job in sealing the series in the first three matches of the five-match ODI series thus taking it to an unbeatable streak of nine matches. The Indian team also surpassed the Proteas to take over the top spot in the ICC ODI Rankings after reining the Test Rankings.

The cricketers gave a clinical performance once again to register their third win in the series courtesy some all-around performance from the new star of Indian Cricket Hardik Pandya. Pandya grabbed the opportunity of batting at No 4 with both hands and playing a wonderful knock of 78 runs in just 72 balls. The new spinning duo of Chahal and Yadav also did a magnificent job in restricting Australia to 293 runs after a good start. Pandya has been in good touch since the Champions Trophy in England earlier this year.

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli recorded a small video where he was seen appreciating the innings of Pandya and also talking about reaching the No 1 spot. He was with Pandya and KL Rahul was seen at the back. He posted the video on his social media accounts and wrote, “Ladies and gentlemen, here is the man of the moment @hardikpandya7 (Also @klrahul11 at the back) Great win, series clinched #NumberOne.”

Australia will look to turn things around in their favor when they take on India in the penultimate game of the series on 28th September at Bengaluru.
