After the ODI series, both the Indian and windies sides are set to lock horns in a three-match T20I series starting at Kolkata tomorrow. The World champions will be facing an Indian side sans Kohli and Dhoni and it will be interesting who comes out on the top.
The 12-man squad for the Indian side has been released today. It is understood that there will be a debutant as Krunal Pandya and Khaleel Ahmed have been named as a part of it. Rohit Sharma will be taking over the captaincy duties. Shikhar and KL also found their names in the proposed 12-man side.
It will be a test of character for Rishabh Pant as he will also be donning the gloves in the absence of MS Dhoni. Manish Pandey and DK will be trying to cement their spots with this opportunity as the middle order responsibilities rest with them. Whatever, this new looks squad has a lot of work to do as the BCCI is trying to build an efficient XI for the 2020 T20 World cup in Australia.
Khaleel, Bhuvi and Bumrah along with Kul-cha spin combo will form the bowling line – up. Depending on the conditions, Rohit will try to drop one of the above to accommodate an all-rounder.
Shreyas Iyer, Nadeem and Washington Sundar are the major names missing in the side.
