Injury Woes For MI: Deepak Chahar And Tilak Varma May Miss IPL 2025 Eliminator

The Mumbai Indians (MI) have encountered injury setbacks ahead of their crucial Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Eliminator clash against Gujarat Titans (GT), scheduled to take place in Mullanpur on May 30. Key players, pacer Deepak Chahar and middle-order batter Tilak Varma, were spotted limping during preparations for the knockout game.

Led by Hardik Pandya, MI came off a disappointing loss to Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their final league-stage match, which cost them a place in Qualifier 1. Additionally, the team has had to part ways with three important overseas players before the must-win Eliminator.

Having secured eight wins in 14 matches, Mumbai Indians finished fourth on the points table. They will now take on Gujarat Titans in a do-or-die encounter at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.

The winner of the Eliminator will face the loser of Qualifier 1 between RCB and PBKS, set for May 29 in Mullanpur. With the losing team facing elimination, the stakes are high. Gujarat Titans hold a mental edge, having beaten Mumbai Indians twice this season.

Chahar, Varma Limping Ahead Of Crucial IPL 2025 Eliminator Clash

Deepak Chahar’s career has often been disrupted by frequent injuries. The fast bowler, who plays a vital role in the bowling lineup alongside Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah, picked up his latest injury during a match against the Punjab Kings. Despite being strapped on the leg, he managed to bowl three overs.

As Mumbai Indians prepare for the crucial Eliminator clash against Gujarat Titans, concerns have emerged over the fitness of both Chahar and Tilak Varma. A recent video making rounds on social media shows Chahar limping at the airport, raising doubts about his availability for the upcoming knockout fixture.

Tilak Varma, who injured his knee in the same match, was also seen in visible discomfort while accompanying the team to Mullanpur. If the duo is unable to play, it could deal a significant blow to Mumbai Indians’ hopes in this do-or-die encounter. You can watch the video shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter) here:
