Deepak Chahar the young right arm pace bowler from Rajasthan was bought by Chennai Super Kings for INR 80 Lakhs. He has played a key role in helping CSK reaching the finals picking up early wickets and putting pressure on the opposition.

Chahar came into limelight when he took 8 wickets for 10 runs against Hyderabad in his debut Ranji Trophy season in 2010/11. In the last edition, he did not get many chances playing for Rising Pune Supergiants. He missed 2 weeks for CSK due to injury.

On his return, he continued to impress with his swing. So far, the medium pace bowler played 11 matches and picked 10 wickets at an economy of 7.40 runs per over. His best figure in the tournament has been 3/15 against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 22nd April 2018.

As a batsman, he played 11 matches and scored just 50 runs with the best score of 39 with a strike rate of 172.41. Deepak Chahar could play a key role in picking early wickets again in the finals for  Chennai Super Kings on 27th May 2018.
