Indian Premier League is becoming intense day by day as the teams are in a playoff race. Key battles are set to take place this weekend to decide the fortunes of the bottom teams.

Meanwhile, BCCI has announced that the two playoffs (Qualifier 2 and eliminator) have been shifted to Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The matches have been moved out of Pune as it has become a new home for the Chennai Super Kings whose home was shifted owing to security concerns in Tamilnadu.

IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla, said, “The governing council has confirmed that Kolkata will host the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 on May 23 and 25 respectively.”

“We are happy to host the play-off matches and are looking forward to it,” Cricket Association of Bengal joint-secretary Avishek Dalmiya said. Eden Gardens has a seating capacity of 67,000 and it will really be an ideal choice to host.

The Qualifier 1 and the final will be played at Wankhede stadium and no changes have been done to the same.
