Chennai Super Kings won the match against Delhi Daredevils by 13 runs moving to the top of the Table. Watson and Dhoni steered Chennai to a scintillating victory.
Meanwhile, Delhi skipper Shreyas Iyer expressed his dissent over the controversial “LBW” call of Shane Watson. Boult hit one to the pads of Shane Watson in the very first ball of the match. The third umpire failed in giving a successful result as he judged that the ball hit the bat first. But later on, it seemed that the ball hit the pad before hitting the bat.
Watson, who is famous for getting lbw”s innumerable times, survived and rode on his luck. He hit 78 runs off just 40 deliveries that played a vital role in clinching the sixth victory for the Chennai Super Kings.
Speaking about the same in the presentation, smiling Shreyas Iyer expressed his views on the controversial call. He mentioned “I would like to complain about the first ball wicket. It did not go our way and that could have made a massive impact in the match. The way Watson started it totally changed the game. Not only me, the whole dressing room and obviously you also think the same – that ball hit the pad first and then the bat. “
Chasing a target of 212, Delhi opened failed to put up the last match”s show. Maxwell and Iyer failed miserably in the chase. Pant and Vijay Shankar hit the fifties but the same wasn”t enough to secure a third win for the side.
Delhi is now in a situation to win all the matches to make it to playoffs. Earlier, Gambhir stepped down as the captain and Iyer have a major responsibility in leading his side to win ways, failing which they will taste another disappointing season.
Delhi will face Rajasthan Royals in the match at Delhi tomorrow. (Wednesday, May 2)
