In a game where it was important for the either of the teams to get on board with their first win of this IPL season, Delhi Daredevils came up trumps over Mumbai Indians.
The thrilling contest went to the wire and was decided in the last over, Jason Roy blasted a blistering 90+ inthe chase to take DD home.
While Mumbai supporters were disappointing with the loss, Delhi fans seemed chuffed with their first win of the season.
Electing bowl first, Delhi conceded quite a few runs in the powerplay going for 84 in first six but then pulled back to restrict Mumbai Indians under 200 which they chased down thanks to Jason Roy and Rishabh Pant.
Twitter as fairly pleased after such a blockbuster game, here are the reactions:
Great Work By Mumbai Indians Fielders. A Good Catch By Kieron Pollard And Now A Brilliant One By Hardik Pandya. Catches Like This Wins You Matches. This Could Be A Game Changer. #MIvDD #MIvsDD #IPL2018 pic.twitter.com/9d9rx6fGBh

Mumbai Indians decided to entertain the world in the first half of the tournament and win in the second half of the tournament. First think of masses, then going to kick some asses! Rohit, my captain.

Fair effort from Jason Roy, this.
Hard luck to the member of the backroom staff who’s going to have to cut him out of his jersey 😂 #IPL2018 pic.twitter.com/YzYfnopRqt

The defending champions – Mumbai Indians – are the only team without a win in #IPL2018 and are at bottom of the points table.
Good play, but unfortunate! #MIvDD

Abysmal, horrendous catching and fielding by Mumbai Indians today… this combined with their batting losing steam in death overs would be their undoing in this match! #MIvDD #IPL2018 @mipaltan

Looks like the #IPL begins for #MumbaiIndians after their first five matches #MIvDD
