Royal Challengers Bangalore have been knocked out of the IPL 11 as Rajasthan defeated them by 30 runs. It is to be noted that the instability of the middle order in the chase thrashed their dreams of making it to playoffs.
Shreyas Gopal played a vital role in clinching the wickets as he ended with figures 4/16. Though AB de Villiers scored a half-century yet again, Moeen and Mandeep failed to capitalize their starts.
This is the second consecutive time RCB failed to qualify for the playoffs. Though the bowling line-up provided good breakthroughs, the batting failed miserably towards the end of the tournament as their hopes were buried by the opponents.
AB de Villiers scored six half-centuries while Umesh Yadav bagged 20 wickets for RCB this season. Inconsistency in the middle order and their death bowling were few of the factors that affected their chances.
Rajasthan will now have to wait for the further results to decide their playoff fortunes.
