Delhi Capitals pacer Kagiso Rabada reached a unique feat in the match against Chennai Super Kings. He became the fastest bowler in IPL history to reach 50 wickets after dismissing Chennai Super Kings Faf Du Plessis.

The match between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings was an interesting contest as Chennai after winning the toss elected to bat first and put up 179 runs on the board all thanks to valuable contributions from Du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu and Ravinder Jadeja.

That is when Kagiso Rabada who opened the bowling for Delhi Capitals dismissed Faf Du Plessis as he was caught by Shikhar Dhawan on the boundary rope. Rabada ended with the figures of four overs 33 runs 1 wicket which also includes a maiden over.

Kagiso Rabada Fastest To 50 IPL Wickets

Kagiso Rabada is on a phenomenal run this season for the Delhi Capitals as he hasn’t had a single game where he’s gone wicketless. He now overtakes Sunil Narine who took 32 matches to reach 50 IPL wickets as Rabada achieved the feat in just 27 matches. Rabada joins the elite list featuring Lasith Malinga, Imran Tahir, M McClenaghan, Amit Mishra.

At the same time, the Proteas fast bowler also took the least amount of balls to reach 50 IPL wickets over taking Lasith Malinga.

Kagiso Rabada has been a vital cog of the Delhi Capitals franchise’s emergent success in the recent past. He made his first appearance for the Delhi Daredevils side in 2017 following which he represented the franchise in 2019 where he was instrumental in helping Delhi Capitals finish third in the tournament.

In 2020, Kagiso Rabada is repeating what he does best as he has picked a wicket in every game he’s played even in this season which is quite evidently seen the franchise’s success this year.
