Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is likely to play against Kings XI Punjab in Dubai tonight. He suffered cramps and injury in Delhi’s game against Rajasthan Royals in the first leg of the tournament. However, if reports from a Delhi Capitals official are to be believed, then the left-handed batsman is almost sure to make a comeback against Kings XI Punjab. The Capitals played three matches in Pant’s absence, losing one and winning two. They lost against Mumbai Indians, but came back to win the next games against Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals official gave an update on Pant’s fitness and he said that he took part in the practice sessions and completed them without any trouble. He further said that the final call on his inclusion will be taken before the toss.

“He has been working closely with the physio and trainer and has completed sessions without any trouble and is fit. A final call is expected to be taken before toss but Pant is likely to play against Punjab,” a DC official told news agency ANI.

Pant scored 176 runs from the first six matches that he played before getting injured. He played important cameos for them in the games and helping his team score key runs in the process. He took eight from the first six games that he played as well.

Delhi Capitals are currently on 14 points table and a win against KXIP on Tuesday will help them fix their playoff berth in IPL 2020.

Meanwhile Kings XI Punjab have won their last two games and will look to make it three in a row tonight. They snatched victory quite literally from the jaws of defeat on both occasions. While they won of the last ball of the match against RCB, they beat Mumbai Indians in the second Super Over of the game. This was the first match ever in IPL history to see two Super Over in a single match.
